Year-round Lessons at Music Schools and Centers

 

We’ve provided the following contacts in order to assure that all families have access to the same information about outside musical enrichment for their students. 

 

East Bay Center for the Performing Arts

 

EBCPA provides group classes in music (brass, strings, woodwind), dance, jazz and theater. Private lessons, summer intensives, Young Diploma Arts Program, student support services, andbilingual services and programs are also available.

OakTown Jazz Workshops
 

Oaktown Jazz Workshops (OJW) is a non-profit, community based, cultural education organization dedicated to passing on the tradition of jazz music to young people through music instruction, educational presentations and live concerts.

California Jazz Conservatory
 

Young Musicians Program (YMP) is a year-round, comprehensive music education and performance program. It is designed for beginning, intermediate and advanced middle and high school instrumentalists, and vocalists between the ages of 11 and 18. YMP students are provided with the opportunity to work with professional jazz artists and educators, strengthening performance skills, expanding knowledge of jazz theory and improvisation, and learning more about the foundations of jazz and related styles of music.

Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco (LJYE)
 

The LJYE is a performing group of talented musicians ages ten to 18.  Youth from diverse cultural backgrounds become competent in Latin and Afro-Latin jazz performance. Free tuition scholarships for all students.

SF Jazz Education

 

SFJAZZ Education offers exciting jazz performance programs for advanced high school age musicians, and is developing additional community-based programs in the near future. Please stay tuned for future updates on our website! High School All-Stars is a pre-professional training program for current Bay Area high school age jazz musicians. Comprising two ensembles - the Big Band and the Combo - the All-Stars rehearse and perform throughout the school year at the SFJAZZ Center, receive mentorship and clinics with leading jazz professionals, record a professional studio album, and appear at prestigious music festivals and competitions.
